How Billing Works
Learn how MarketingStride one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions work, including renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and billing-frequency changes.
MarketingStride offers both one-time purchases and recurring subscriptions, depending on the plan.
Discovery is a one-time purchase.
Insight, Progress, and Assurance are recurring subscription plans.
How billing works for Discovery
Discovery is purchased once for a single paid access path.
It is not a recurring subscription and does not renew automatically.
How billing works for subscriptions
Recurring subscriptions renew automatically based on the billing cadence you selected when you subscribed.
Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal but does not end your current paid access immediately.
What happens when I upgrade?
Upgrades take effect after payment succeeds.
You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing cycle.
Your existing renewal date stays the same, and your next renewal uses the full price of your new plan.
What happens when I downgrade?
Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle.
You keep your current plan and allowances until that cycle ends.
No refund or credit is issued for the current billing cycle just because you scheduled a downgrade.
What happens if I change billing frequency?
Monthly to annual
Monthly-to-annual changes begin immediately after payment succeeds.
Annual billing starts right away, and the unused portion of your current monthly period is credited toward the annual charge.
Your new annual term begins on the day you switch.
Annual to monthly
Annual-to-monthly changes are scheduled for the end of your current annual term.
You keep your annual access and annual allowances until the annual term ends.
No refund or credit is issued for the remaining annual term.
How monthly allowances work
Monthly allowances determine how much included subscription usage is available during a billing cycle.
At the beginning of each new billing cycle, your account receives the allowances included with your active subscription plan.
Unused allowances do not roll over to the next billing cycle.
What happens to allowances when I change plans?
When you upgrade during the current billing cycle, the new plan's current-cycle allowance limits apply immediately.
Already-used allowance of the same type counts against the new plan's current-cycle limit.
Upgrading does not reset historical usage or create duplicate allowance for the same billing cycle.
When you downgrade, your current plan's allowances remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.
The lower plan's allowances begin at the next billing cycle.
