What Is An Expansion Audit?
An Expansion Audit evaluates additional pages that are not yet part of your Website Baseline.
An Expansion Audit evaluates additional pages that are not yet part of your Website Baseline.
The purpose of an Expansion Audit is to broaden your understanding of a website by analyzing new pages beyond what your current Website Baseline covers.
Unlike a rescan, which re-evaluates pages already inside your Website Baseline, an Expansion Audit introduces pages that have not previously been analyzed.
Why Expansion Audits Exist
Most websites contain more pages than can reasonably be evaluated in a single Website Audit.
As organizations continue using MarketingStride, they often want visibility into additional areas of their website. Expansion Audits provide a structured way to broaden that visibility over time, in contiguous page ranges (for example, an initial Website Baseline of pages 1–15, expanded to pages 1–30 with an Expansion Audit covering pages 16–30).
Does An Expansion Audit Change My Website Baseline?
Not by itself.
An Expansion Audit expands what has been analyzed, but it does not automatically change your active Website Baseline or your official site score. Expanding your Website Baseline is a separate, explicit step: after reviewing Expansion Audit results, you can choose to **Expand Website Baseline**, which requires a **Flexible Website Rescan** across the resulting expanded Website Baseline before the change takes effect.
Questions An Expansion Audit Can Help Answer
An Expansion Audit may help answer:
- What additional content exists beyond my current Website Baseline?
- Are important topics represented on pages outside my current baseline?
- Do additional pages reinforce existing findings?
- Are there new interpretation opportunities or challenges?
