What Is A Key Point?
A key point is a discrete idea, claim, explanation, capability, differentiator, process, fact, or statement identified during analysis.
A key point is a discrete idea, claim, explanation, capability, differentiator, process, fact, or statement identified during analysis.
Key points are the foundational units of evaluation within MarketingStride.
Rather than evaluating a page as a single block of content, MarketingStride identifies individual ideas expressed throughout the page and evaluates how clearly those ideas are communicated.
A page may contain many key points, each contributing to the overall understanding of the content.
Examples Of Key Points
A services page may contain key points such as:
- What the service is
- How the service works
- Who the service is designed for
- What problem the service solves
- What differentiates the service
A product page may contain key points such as:
- Product capabilities
- Intended use cases
- Features
- Benefits
- Technical specifications
A support page may contain key points such as:
- Procedures
- Requirements
- Eligibility criteria
- Troubleshooting steps
Why Key Points Matter
AI systems do not evaluate content in exactly the same way humans do.
When answering questions, many systems must identify specific ideas that can be extracted, interpreted, and used independently.
Key points help explain:
- What information exists
- How clearly it is expressed
- Whether it is sufficiently supported
- Whether it can be used as an answer
- Which dimensions the key point may relate to, when the completed analysis supports that relationship
This makes key points one of the most important concepts within MarketingStride.
How Key Points Relate To Dimensions
A key point may be related to one or more AI Findability dimensions.
For example, a key point may relate to answer attribution if it helps explain whether a page can support a clear answer. It may also relate to structured data alignment if supported visible content could be reinforced with JSON-LD.
Related dimensions are a way to understand where a key point may matter. They are not a promise that changing the key point will improve a score.
If you improve the underlying page content and run a future audit or rescan, MarketingStride can evaluate whether the result changed.
What Key Points Are Not
Key points are not:
- Keywords
- SEO terms
- Search queries
- Marketing slogans
- Entire pages
A key point represents a specific piece of information expressed within the content.
