Installing an AI Discovery File

MarketingStride generates an AI Discovery File as an installable `llms.txt` file for eligible site-level packages.

The file should be placed at the root of your website.

Where To Install It

Install the file at:

`https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt`

For example, if your website is `https://example.com`, the file should be reachable at:

`https://example.com/llms.txt`

Who Usually Installs It?

Depending on your website platform, installation may need to be handled by:

• your website developer;
• your web administrator;
• your CMS administrator;
• your hosting provider;
• someone with access to website files or routing settings.

Basic Installation Steps

1. Download or copy the generated `llms.txt` file from MarketingStride. 2. Add the file to the root of your website. 3. Confirm the file is publicly reachable at `/llms.txt`. 4. Run or review validation if available. 5. Keep the downloaded version for your records.

What The File Should Look Like Online

The installed file should open as plain text or Markdown-like text in a browser.

It should not require a login. It should not appear inside a normal website page template. It should not redirect to a dashboard, account area, checkout page, or PDF.

When To Regenerate It

Regenerate the file after meaningful site-level changes or after a new Progress or Assurance site-level run.

Examples include:

• important pages were added or removed;
• navigation changed significantly;
• a site-level rescan was completed;
• validation says the current file is stale;
• support recommends regeneration.

What Not To Expect

Installing an AI Discovery File does not guarantee AI visibility, rankings, citations, or inclusion in AI-generated answers.

It is an implementation artifact that helps organize important public website content in a machine-facing format.
